As previously mentioned in our May edition of The Newsletter, Louisiana’s Legislature began a ten-day special session on Tuesday, May 22, after the Governor vetoed the state budget. The special session ended on June 4, without having passed a balanced budget.

However, two bills introduced last month (HB 7 and HB 8), which would have impacted the state’s motion picture production tax credit, have failed.

A final special session is likely to be scheduled for later this month, but no further bills are expected that would alter the motion picture production tax credit.
